Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) - Coquitlam (Lincoln)
Provides free English classes for adult immigrants and refugees to help them gain the language and knowledge to start their new lives and settle in Canada. Must be a Permanent Resident of Canada and age 17 years of age or older. The English Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) classes incorporate English learning with topics such as housing, banking, and Canada's political system and laws, as well as communication in real life and Canadian culture. Classes include regular computer lab access. This location also offers conversation practice with an English-speaking volunteer for a LINC student at CLB 3 or higher. Placement of new students is determined by testing, administered by Surrey Language Assessment Centre. Serves the Tri-cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody). Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
