Ledger House

Provides acute, inpatient, hospital-based psychiatric services for Vancouver Island children and youth ages six to 16 with complex psychiatric problems. Services include short-term crisis intervention, stabilization, assessment, treatment planning, and short-term interventions. Children's and Youth Units include 14 inpatient beds, and provide multidisciplinary, tertiary mental health assessment and treatment planning. The Special Care Unit (SCU) provides short-term stabilization and assessment to children and youth during an acute crisis that requires intensive 24-hour monitoring, including florid psychosis, active mania, and suicidal with previous serious suicide attempts. Referral required from physician or mental health clinician. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Serves Vancouver Island.
