Service Description

Provides safe, secure, temporary shelter and support for women (including transgender women) with or without children, who are leaving violent relationships or are at-risk of abuse, threats, or violence. Accepts male children up to and including age 19. Accepts refugees and refugee claimants, as well women from out of province. Length of stay is 30 days. Low-barrier house; no substance use on premises. Gives women a safe and supportive living environment with access to daily living requirements such as clothing, toiletries, and nutritious meals. Also provides emotional support, transportation, accompaniment, and advocacy support, as well as assists clients in accessing financial assistance, legal aid, and affordable housing. Offers resource information to enable women to explore their options and define their goals as well as assist with the development of safety plans. Personal identification (ID) is not required. Pets are accepted. Wheelchair accessible. Funded by BC Housing.
