Mackenzie Safe Home Program

Provides emergency shelter and emotional support to women (inclusive of cisgender and transgender women), with or without children, who have been victims of abuse or violence of any kind. Male children up to and including age 19 are accepted; dependents over age 19 are considered on a case-by-case basis. Identification is not required to access the house. Services include crisis counselling, ongoing support, and information and referral regarding community resources. Also offers preventive and educational services on the issue of family violence to the community. The Safe Home Coordinator is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Accepts pets. Not wheelchair accessible. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by BC Housing.
