Provides a variety of one-to-one mentoring programs for children from ages six to 18. Community-based Mentoring: Volunteers 19 and over provide friendship, guidance, and support in a one-to-one friendship with a child; usually requires two regularly scheduled outings a month of several hours each and a minimum of one-year commitment. In-school Mentoring: Teens, adults, and senior volunteers mentor a student one hour per week at school during school hours. Group Mentoring: Volunteers work with a group of children once a week for seven-weeks after school to build self-esteem, healthy self-decision-making skills, and provide a positive environment for youth to develop new friendships. All volunteers are carefully screened, trained, and receive ongoing support from professional staff. Serves Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm or by appointment Monday to Friday.
