Maple Ridge Treatment Centre (MRTC)

Service Description

Offers an intensive 60-bed residential treatment program for men 19 years of age and older, who are managing substance misuse. Also offers four withdrawal and treatment beds for men ages 18 to 24. Program is either 28 or 49 days, with extensions based on clinical needs, and is primarily group-based with some opportunities for individual sessions. Treatment is delivered by clinical counsellors, support workers, a medical team which includes a medical director and onsite nursing team, and a full-time registered onsite dietitian. Services also include an onsite exercise and games room, meditation and yoga classes, and recreation and leisure activities. Applications are accepted from professional referrals; must be referred by an addiction or employee assistance program (EAP) counsellor, doctor or psychiatrist, or parole/probation officer. Wheelchair accessible. Accepts men on methadone maintenance and suboxone, and accepts men with a concurrent mental health disorder who have been stable on medication for at least one month. Service is provided in English; no access to interpretation provided. Funding must be in place prior to admission. Office hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday; intake generally occurs on Friday mornings, although an alternate admission time can be arranged.
