MHSU Family Support Services

The Family Support Services Team provides individual support and guidance to family, friends, and natural supports ages 19 and older who are supporting another adult living with mental health and/or substance use concerns. Services include: individual coaching with a clinical counsellor or family peer (up to 8 sessions), psycho-education, skills and information groups, support groups, system navigation, and wellness planning. The team is comprised of family peers, clinical counsellors, community engagement specialists, and a program coordinator. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Family Connections is a free 12-week online group focused on building skills to help family members with a loved one with emotional dysregulation. Individuals can contact the Fraser Health Access Line: Mental Health and Substance Use for help connecting with the service that best fits their needs; hours are 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, 365 days a year. Individuals can also filled in the online form (https://askfraser.fraserhealth.ca/engage/dfd/mental-health-and-substance-use) to receive a call back within 48 hours. Serves the Fraser Health region.
