Mobile Crisis De-escalation Team (MoDe)

Provides non-police same-day mental health and substance use crisis support to individuals ages 17 and over requiring an urgent in-person intervention that cannot be provided by their regular care team or an alternate crisis service. The team travels to the person's location. A person may be experiencing or nearing a mental health crisis, and may or may not actively use substances. Services include assessment, intervention, referral to health services, and short-term follow-up support. Accepts referrals from pre-identified community service providers, such as shelters, outreach teams, and community centres. Service is not for people who are actively putting their own lives, or the physical safety of others, at risk; for emergency, call 9-1-1 or visit the nearest hospital. Serves Vancouver. Hours are 8:30 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday.
