Multicultural Victim Services Program

Service Description

Provides free community-based victim services programs to immigrants, refugees, visitors, and newcomers age 19 and older of any gender and background; serves victims of all crimes. Services include emotional support, advocacy, safety planning, assistance with child protection authorities, accompaniment to medical and/or criminal justice system services, liaison with crown counsel, information about the criminal justice system and court process, help preparing victim impact statements, form completion assistance, information on the status of police investigations and the status of court cases, information on peace bonds and restraining orders, help with applications for financial assistance, information and referral to other agencies and services such as counselling, transition houses, and support for children. Serves Vancouver and Burnaby. Services are delivered by phone and by email, and are available in English and Vietnamese. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
