My Sister's Place - Second-Stage Housing

Provides second-stage transition housing serving women with or without children who are fleeing gender-based violence; serves cisgender and transgender women as well as non-binary and Two-Spirit individuals. Accepts dependent children of either gender up to age 18. Accepts individuals from out of province. Provides emotional support, safety planning and referrals. Also provides transportation, accompaniment, and advocacy support, as well as assists clients in accessing financial assistance, legal aid, and affordable housing. Length of stay is up to 18 months. Medium-barrier house. Personal identification (ID) is not required. Priority is on a first-come, first-served need basis. Rent for second-stage housing is 30% of a resident's income or the provincial shelter rate for those receiving income or disability assistance. Wheelchair accessible. Accepts pets if animal can be with owner in room. Funded in part by BC Housing.
