Next Step Program

Transitional second-stage residential housing provides a safe and affordable place for men committed to recovery and personal growth. Provides a structured, faith-based environment where men can focus on develop essential life skills and work toward long-term independence. Eligible applicants may be homeless or at risk of homelessness; completing an addictions recovery program; needing support due to emotional or mental health issues; struggling with interpersonal or societal issues; integrating into society after incarceration; or unemployable and wanting to learn new skills. Offers 14 private rooms arranged in three pods. Residents stay for nine to 12 months. Alcohol and drug use is not permitted during tenancy. Staff members work with clients to develop personal development plans during their stay. Residents must attend a life skills group and an AA meeting on site each week and are encouraged to get involved in other groups in the community if suitable. Accepts men on methadone maintenance but it must be dispensed daily and the client must be able to get to the pharmacy on their own. Referrals accepted from case managers, outreach teams, probation officers, and other service providers working with men who are ready to stabilize. Serves Abbotsford and Mission. Does not accept pets. Wheelchair accessible.
