Outreach Navigator

Outreach team provides housing readiness support services to individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, including assistance recovering lost or stolen identification, facilitating applications for treatment and supportive housing, and connecting those without a current source of income to financial assistance through the appropriate channels. Provides brief interventions and a triage service referring clients for necessary support. Offers food bags, water, and harm reduction supplies to people who are sheltering outside; does not serve those who are precariously housed. Also distributes weather appropriate gear such as tents, coats, sunscreen, and hats if available. Operates in West Kelowna from 1 pm to 3 pm on Mondays, Kelowna (midtown) and Rutland from 11 am to 3 pm Tuesday to Friday; operates out of Metro Central Shelter Hub once per week; does not serve Downtown Kelowna or the Tent City (OS4) area. Funded by the City of Kelowna.
