PATHWAYS

Provides services to youth and young adults at risk for gang participation, with the intent to divert them away from a criminal lifestyle. Aims to create a long-term, integrated response through community engagement, prevention, and intervention. Prevention involves engagement, education, and empowerment. Intervention service primarily focuses on youth ages 12 to 19, but may also benefit young adults ages 19 to 30. Service delivery can also be extended to family members or peers, if those individuals are a positive influence and do not support criminal behaviour. A screening process is required to assess eligibility for the program. Service is offered in English and Punjabi. Open referral by phone or online form. A voicemail can also be left with information about youth who are referred; the mailbox is checked during business hours. Serves Abbotsford.
