PEACE (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment) Program - Chetwynd

Provides individual and group counselling for children and youth ages three to 18 who have been exposed to family violence. Helps children and youth to express feelings in a healthy way, discuss their trauma, learn to manage their response to family violence, develop a safety plan, recognize their strengths and increase their self-confidence, and understand that they are not responsible for the violence. Also provides individual and group support for caregivers, school-based educational activities designed to prevent violence, and community awareness presentations on the effects of domestic violence. Hours vary. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
