PEACE (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment) Program for Children and Youth Experiencing Violence - New Westminster

Provides a individual and group counselling program for children and youth who have been exposed to family violence. Helps children and youth understand their emotions, discuss their trauma, develop a safety plan, recognize their strengths, increase their self-confidence, and understand that they are not responsible for the violence. Also provides individual and group support for the non-offending parent and caregivers. Services may include individual counselling, a children's support group, education, and consultation. Counselling services are offered on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. Participants are also eligible for the PEACE (CWWA) Camping Program to engage in fun, social activities where they practice interpersonal skills. Serves New Westminster. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
