Provides support services to victims and witnesses of crime or trauma. Services may include crisis attendance at scene of the crime, emotional support, assistance in completing victim impact statements and applications for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), advocacy, information on case progression, safety planning and education about crime prevention techniques, court orientation and accompaniment, and information and referral regarding community services. Serves the Powell River, area, including Desolation Sound, Gillies Bay, Lund, Saltery Bay, Savary Island, Texada Island, and Tla'amin (Sliammon) First Nations. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Contract held by qathet SAFE and funding provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG) and municipal/regional governments.
