Prevention and Loss Management Services Branch (PLMS)

Develops and implements prevention, compliance, and enforcement initiatives, as well as strategies and programs aimed at reducing overpayments and deterring fraud. Ensures that income, disability, and hardship assistance is only provided to those who are eligible. Accepts reports from members of the public concerning fraud related to BC Employment and Income Assistance (BCEA) programs. Types of fraud may include duplicate assistance, false identification, or undeclared income or assets. Fraud reports can be made online (www.reportfraud.gov.bc.ca/Allegation.aspx), by fax, or phone. Phone hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
