Provincial Protective Measures Unit (PPMU)

This unit works on a highly confidential level with service providers who work with individuals across BC who are victims of domestic or familial violence and are at risk of serious injury or fatal harm. The unit is staffed by a police officer and victim support worker who collaborate with one another to provide consultation to service providers about long-term safety planning and protective measures for their clients. They can also consult with service providers about relocation/name change options, available for only the most serious cases. Victims in immediate danger must be directed to local police, not this service, as PPMU offers long-term responses only. Phone number is for service providers only, not for clients/victims themselves. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
