Rosewood Program
A low-barrier emergency shelter for 60 homeless women (cisgender and transgender) ages 19 and over with or without children of all genders up to age 18. Services include meals/snacks, shower and laundry facilities, personal hygiene products, clothing, and first aid/wound care. Other services include information and referral, advocacy, access to local calling, support with accessing income assistance, housing search assistance and support (including a rental subsidy), as well as law clinic support. Health-related services include 24-hour access to bed rest. Pets are not allowed, and no storage available. Individuals may be admitted when intoxicated on condition of respectful behaviour, and if they can complete and understand the intake process. Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol on the property. Violence will not be tolerated. Length of stay is 30 days, with possibility of extension. Shelter is wheelchair accessible. Referral accepted from self or other at any time. Shelter hours are 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Funded by BC Housing.
