Seniors Counselling Program

Service Description

Aims to improve overall health and individual quality of life for seniors age 55 and over by focusing on physical, social, and emotional well-being. Provides free short-term counselling, emotional support, global assessments of current functioning, education on topics related to clients' current situation, case management, and referral to community resources. Outreach can be provided to seniors in their home communities and their homes as appropriate, and with family as applicable. Does not provide but can assist with referrals to mental health and dementia assessments; trauma and/or long-term counselling; dialectical behavioural therapy; personal or home care; and medication management. Referral accepted from self or other. Applicants must be residents of Delta. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
