Seniors Programs

Seniors' programs aim to empower seniors to be more active and connected and volunteer in the community; many are led by senior as well as youth volunteers. Programs have included Tai chi, dance, knitting, arts and crafts, and men's sheds. Intergenerational programs create opportunities for wisdom exchange and deeper connections between generations; programs have included drum circles with elders, cultural workshops, trips, and educational workshops. Offers seniors' social meals at various dates and times; contact for details. Neighbourhood House on the Go provides friendly visits from volunteers on outreach tricycles. The Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) aims to enhance older adults' physical and mental well-being by offering therapeutic physical and recreational activities and nutritious lunches in a social setting. Hours are 10 am to 1:30 pm Wednesdays; registration required. Offered in partnership with United Way BC (UWBC) Healthy Aging Program, and funded by Government of BC.
