Assures a guaranteed minimum monthly income for BC residents aged 65 and over receiving federal Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) allowances, Old Age Security (OAS), and no other significant sources of taxable income (like CPP). If the income level of an eligible senior's total income falls below the level guaranteed by the Province, the supplement is provided to make up the difference.
