Sequoia Residence
A residential treatment program with 15 beds for women (cisgender and transgender) and non-binary individuals ages 19 and over who are in recovery from substance use. Staffed 24 hours. Residents are supported in stabilization for up to two weeks. Holistic programming includes individual and group counselling, cultural supports, and life skills development; participation is required. Services to promote the transition to independence include relapse prevention, aftercare planning, support finding employment or housing, and referrals to community services. Length of stay is 90 days. Three beds are under the supervision of Correctional Services Canada (CSC); a referral is required from a parole officer. For all other applicants, a referral is required from Fraser Health Substance Use Services Access Team (SUSAT); referrals can be made in partnership with community care teams and the applicable Regional Health Authority Liaison. Accepts individuals on substitution therapy; medications are administered daily by a pharmacist. Residence is not wheelchair accessible. Funded by BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS) as a Provincial Substance Use Treatment Program.
