Settlement and Integration Services - Penticton
Supports the social and economic integration of newcomers who are not eligible to receive services from federally funded programs. Program serves refugee claimants, temporary foreign workers, post-secondary international students, provincial nominees who are not yet permanent residents, and recently naturalized citizens who continue to be dependent on settlement support; there may be eligibility restrictions for some services. Assists with needs assessment and orientation to the community, completion of government forms and applications, making appointments, and referrals to community agencies and resources. Serves Cawston, Hedley, Kaleden, Keremeos, Naramata, Okanagan Falls, Penticton, Princeton, and Summerland; videoconferencing is available for communities outside of Penticton. Services are available in Punjabi, Bengali, Tagalog, Hindi, and Urdu; services may also be available in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, and Spanish depending on staff availability. Office hours are 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Wednesday, 9 am to 7 pm Thursdays, 9 am to 5 pm Fridays, and 9 am to 1 pm Saturdays.
