Service Description

Supports the social and economic integration of newcomers who are not eligible to receive services from federally funded programs. Program serves refugee claimants, temporary foreign workers, post-secondary international students, provincial nominees who are not yet permanent residents, and recently naturalized citizens who continue to be dependent on settlement support; there may be eligibility restrictions for some services. Resources available to newcomers include: Conversation Circles to improve English communication skills; Youth Groups, Workshops and Activities to socialize with other newcomers; Workshops: Educational to learn about healthcare, social services, legal, educational, and housing systems; and Community Connections to learn recreational skills and connect with other newcomers. Newcomers who require more intensive support may receive Guided Pathways case management support. Services are available in over 20 languages including Arabic, Cantonese, French, Korean, Mandarin, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Services are offered by phone, email, and online. Serves the Lower Mainland. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm on Monday to Friday.
