Sobering and Assessment Centre (SAC)
Provides a safe place for up to 11 individuals age 17 and over who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs to sober up. Beds are on a first-come, first-served basis with youth separated from adults, and males from females in separate dorms. Individuals must not require acute medical or psychiatric treatment, and cannot be going into withdrawal from substances or be combative or aggressive; they must be able to walk, talk, follow directions, and put on pajamas at admission. Clients can shower and have their clothes laundered; provides donations of personal care products and socks and clothing if available. Offers a drink and snack upon departure. Accepts referral from self or other. Does not act as a shelter. Open 24 hours a day, year-round.
