Specialized Victim Assistance Program - Mission

Assists women who are victims of intimate partner violence, as well as female and male victims of all ages who have experienced recent or historical sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, or other family violence. Services include court orientation and accompaniment, liaison with Crown Counsel and police, assistance and information regarding Victim Impact Statements and the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), support and encouragement, and referral to community resources. Multicultural Specialized Victim Assistance Program provides services in Hindi and Punjabi. Offers third party reporting to adult victims of sexual assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Serves Mission. Funding provided by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
