Teechuktl Mental Health - Gold River Office
Supports the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Nuu-chah-nulth individuals, families, and communities. Services include clinical counseling (one-to-one, family, or group), crisis response, and culturally safe practices reflecting Nuu-chah-nulth healing traditions. Crisis clinical counselling is available to Nuu Chah Nulth people living away from home through the Non-Insured Health Benefits program. The Quu'asa Wellness Program provides one-to-one and family support, incorporating cultural practices and ceremonies to help families reintroduce Nuu-chah-nulth traditions. Also supports survivors of residential school with filling out applications and finding resources and support. Offers mental wellness support for survivors and family members of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). Harm reduction services include Naloxone distribution and training and other harm reduction resources. Holds weekly picnics in Port Alberni during the summer and group activities (cedar bark harvesting, healthy activities for youth) for those struggling with addiction or mental health issues. Open to Nuu-chah-nulth members.
