Telus Relay Service (TRS)

Provided by: TELUS

Service Description

Allows customers who are deaf or hard-of-hearing or who have difficulty with speech to use a TTY or teletypewriter (also known as TDD or Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) to communicate with any other telephone user. Also allows a hearing person without a TTY to call a TTY user. Staff at the Message Relay Centre can also call directory assistance on behalf of TTY users. Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No charge for local calls, and long distance calls (for TTY customers only) are billed at a reduced rate. Telus IP Relay Service enables deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to place and receive text-based relay calls from any device with internet access. A Telus IP Relay operator will connect an IP Relay caller to a voice/hearing party. Does not place IP to IP calls. Free service to place local or long distance calls within North America; usage charges may apply for mobile devices. International calls are billed at regular long distance rates. All calls are strictly confidential.
