Thompson Court
Provides 30 units of transitional housing and varying levels of support to youth, ages 19 to 24, of any gender, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Participants work with a youth housing worker to create a plan based on life skills, employment, education, and transition planning goals. Must be attending a day program, school or employment. Maximum stay is two years. Participants must be able to pay rent geared to income (up to 30 percent of monthly income). Referrals can be made directly by Vancouver-based Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS); self-referrals accepted. Support staff are on site from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by BC Housing.
