Turning Point - Richmond Men's
A 10-bed treatment and recovery residence for men and transgender individuals ages 19 and older with substance use issues. Provides supported recovery services that are client-centred and evidence-based, including expressive arts therapy, acupuncture, yoga, aromatherapy, recreation therapy, and nutritional planning. Offers a 90-day program with possibility for extension; residents may be permitted to work for the last two or three weeks of their stay to assist the transition back to work and into the community. Cannot accommodate wheelchairs. Clients should be 48 to 72 hours sober prior to admission, be medically stable and not at risk of experiencing acute withdrawal symptoms at intake; medical detox may be recommended. Accepts referrals from hospitals, physicians, detox, and outpatient services; priority placement is for Richmond residents and those referred through Vancouver Coastal Health's Transitions Counselling program. Fee is $275 per day; also accepts funding through EI and income assistance. Accepts self-referrals from self pay clients. Intake is from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday; administration hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Funded as a Stabilization and Transitional Living Residence (STLR) by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and licensed by Community Care and Assisted Living.
