Municipal shelter provides shelter, foster care, and adoption for dogs and other animals without a home. Animals that are adoptable or treatable are not put down. Administration hours are 10 am to 6 pm seven days a week; pet adoption and redemption hours are 10 am to 6 pm daily (except public holidays). Issues dog licences, which may also be obtained on the website or at the City Hall Service Revenue main entrance (453 West 12th Avenue). Handles complaints about animals, including barking dogs, attacking or aggressive dogs, dog bites, and neglected or stray dogs. Also provides pick-up of dead pets and wildlife.
