Victim Services Program

Community-based program provides telephone-based support to adults age 50 and over who have experienced crime and/or abuse. In some cases, services are also provided to affected parties (of any age), who have a close relationship with the older adult and witnessed the abuse or neglect. Clients receive support regardless of whether or not the matter has been reported to police. Assistance is provided over the phone and clients may remain anonymous. Self referral accepted. Also collaborates with local victim services programs and provincial partners for a coordinated response to and prevention of elder abuse, and raises awareness about abuse and crimes against older adults. Serves BC. Phone hours are 8 am to 8 pm weekdays. Funded by Ministry of Attorney General, Victim Services and Crime Prevention Division and the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
