VNFC Shelter - Seasonal Shelter
Provides seasonal, high-barrier overnight emergency shelter on mats for individuals of all genders, ages 19 and up, who are experiencing homelessness. Couples are welcome. Operates until April 30th. Services include dinner and light breakfast; transportation to and from designated pickup locations; showers and on-site laundry facilities; and referrals to housing, income supports, and other basic needs. Storage space is not available; guests must carry all belongings in and out each day. Pets are not permitted. Zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol on site or around the neighbourhood. Individuals may not be admitted while intoxicated but may be offered transportation to the Sobering Centre. Intake is by phone (no walk-ins) daily between 3:30 pm and midnight; voicemail will indicate if all beds have been filled. Referral accepted from self only. Shelter hours are 8 pm to 7 am. Shelter is not wheelchair accessible; guests must be able to walk unassisted and manage stairs independently to access washroom and laundry facilities. Funded by BC Housing.
