A free, six-week essential skills training program for individuals ages 18 and older. Workshops include communication, time management, problem solving, goal setting, and job search tools and preparation. Offers certificate training options including office skills, first aid, customer service, industrial safety, and equipment operation. Provides two weeks of supported job search and employment connection, job lead sessions, networking support, and follow-up. Must be 18 years and older, BC resident, legally entitled to work in Canada, unemployed and not attending school nor eligible to receive Employment Insurance (EI). Serves Northern BC. Referral accepted from self or other. Hours are 8:15 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday. Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR) as a WorkBC Employment Services and Supports (ESS) Program.
