Nanaimo Youth Services Association (NYSA)

Provides opportunities for youth ages 16 to 30 in the Nanaimo region to gain knowledge, life, and employment skills. Offers a variety of free and low-cost programming to support youth, including pregnancy and parenting education, driver experience, education for young renters, employment programs, supportive and affordable housing, and YouthStart, which provides youth with assistance with groceries, housewares, bedding or a full home starter package. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.

Provides employment within trade or industry sectors to out-of-school and unemployed youth ages 16 to 30.

Provides employment within trade or industry sectors to out-of-school and unemployed youth ages 16 to 30. Youth are provided with up to 60 hours of work experience in areas such as basic security training, customer service and tourism, retail, hospitality, construction, and agriculture/landscaping. Youth have the opportunity to gain job-specific certification. Funded by Government of BC. Serves Comox Valley, Ladysmith, and Nanaimo.
