QMUNITY - BC's Queer Resource Centre

Provides support to 2SLGBTQIA+ people and their allies to improve their health and well-being through free counselling, information and referrals, access to gender-affirming chest wear, peer support, support groups, special events, volunteer and practicum opportunities, resources, training and workshops. Through Homes for Queers Vancouver, assists 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and allies in finding an inclusive home in Vancouver; also posts rentals. Meeting space is available for rent. Centre hours are 10 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. Serves BC. Nonprofit society, registered charity.

Focus is on health and wellness and is not set up to work with people with mental illness. Free counselling is available to people who are under- or unemployed, or for other reasons cannot afford to pay for mental health services; provided by practicum Masters students. Low-cost individual counselling ranges from $60 to $120 per session, while the cost for couples and families ranges from $80 to $140 per session; provided by registered clinical counsellors and social workers. Free, peer-lead support groups can be found on their topic-searchable page of the website.

Provides information and referral, peer support, and advocacy to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 14 to 25, and their friends and families.

Provides information and referral, peer support, and advocacy to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 14 to 25, and their friends and families. Youth Drop-In provides a safe place for youth to socialize, engage in fun activities, and interact with peers that may have similar questions about sexual orientation or gender identity. GAB Youth (ages 14 to 25) drop-in hours are in-person from 4 pm to 6 pm Thursdays and Fridays, and online from 4 pm to 5 pm Wednesdays. GAB Junior (ages 10 to 13) drop-in hours are online from 5 pm to 6 pm Thursdays biweekly. The Gender Supportive Wear (GSW) Program provides free new and used gender-affirming wear to trans and gender-variant youth who are unable to attain these garments otherwise. Youth can apply online at: https://qmunity.ca/get-support/youth/bbbexchange/. Other services include special events, leadership opportunities, and peer-facilitated 2SLGBTQIA+ youth workshops for schools.
