Threshold Housing Society

Provides safe and stable supported independent living and transitional housing for at-risk youth and young adults ages 16 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness, aging out of care, or fleeing violence in the home. Supports youth to succeed in work and school while moving towards independent adulthood. Also provides foundation skills programming and transitional planning to connect youth with community resources and assist them in achieving their goals. All programs are LGBTQ2SIA+ friendly. Also works with the community to provide scattered site housing for youth. Serves Vancouver Island. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.

Offers youth, ages 15 to 21 of any gender, a safe and supportive environment as they access a harm reduction focused program.

Offers youth, ages 15 to 21 of any gender, a safe and supportive environment as they access a harm reduction focused program. As a second-stage recovery program, youth are typically entering the program from detox or treatment centres with a focus on the next stages of stabilizing and healing. Seven days of abstinence is required prior to admission. Services include daily life skills programming, activities, and community outings, a recovery group three times a week, and support to continue work, school, and connection with friends and family; program length is approximately four months. 24/7 staff on site. Accepts pets. Building is partially wheelchair accessible. Referral is required from a professional service provider. Offered in partnership with Island Health.
