Promotes the legal protection of residential tenants in British Columbia by providing information, education, support, research on residential tenancy matters, and form completion assistance. Services include a Tenant Infoline, educational workshops/webinars, multilingual publications, and a video-based online course. Information on rights and responsibilities on topics such as evictions, repairs, security deposits, rent increases, bed bugs, and dispute resolutions is available on the website. When appropriate, provides direct representation to disadvantaged tenants by negotiating resolutions with problem landlords or providing representation at Residential Tenancy Branch dispute resolution hearings. The Drop-In Program provides tenants with free in-person support with their tenancy issues, referrals to other organizations, and support with Residential Tenancy Branch applications. Drop-in hours are 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Wednesday and 2 pm to 6 pm Thursdays. Infoline hours are 1 pm to 5 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm Wednesdays, and 9 am to 1 pm Fridays.
