Encourages and promotes the well-being of urban Indigenous people by strengthening individuals, family, and community. Services are available to anyone in the community, though the priority is for Indigenous people. The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction does on-site sessions for income assistance, ID and form assistance; see calendar for dates and times. The Elders' Room provides a place for elders to relax, have tea, watch television, have meetings, and share stories. Also offers various programs and events to stimulate a positive, supportive, and creative environment for Indigenous youth; drop-in hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Also operates child care; fees charged, registration required. Offers Food Hampers to existing clients, internal referral only. Serves Greater Victoria area. Intake hours are 1 pm to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Also operates an extreme weather response shelter between November 1 and March 31 when weather is extreme. Nonprofit society.
