AMS Peer Support

Service Description

Provides free and confidential, one-on-one peer support, information, and referrals to UBC students and staff facing a wide variety of challenges. Volunteers are trained in active listening skills, offering referrals and general mental health competency to support students and staff dealing with issues such as academic stress, burnout, loneliness, depression, anxiety, substance use, mental health, relationship struggles, sexual violence, LGBTQ2S+ identity, or grief. The Education and Outreach Branch provides substance use and harm reduction education including free Naloxone training, harm reduction supplies, safe sex supplies, fentanyl test strip distribution, and workshops for the greater UBC community. Drop-in hours are 10 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and 11 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday during the exam seasons.
