Anti-violence Project (AVP)
A service for all genders that provides caring and accessible support, education, and advocacy to those who have been impacted by gender-based violence, either by directly experiencing it, through causing harm to someone, or knowing someone who has experienced it. Trained volunteers provide confidential support and referrals relating to gender-based violence such as sexualized violence, sexual assault, transphobic violence, homophobic violence, street harassment, and intimate partner violence. Also presents educational workshops, public events, and hosts a resource library. Student-based service open to all community members, and works in conjunction with other university and community services. Office hours are generally 10:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday, and support hours are 11 am to 3 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and also by appointment on Wednesdays.
