BC Family Information Liaison Unit (BC FILU)

Supports and assists families of missing or murdered Indigenous women and girls to access information they are seeking related to the loss of their loved one. Services are confidential, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and victim-centred. Works with partners in government and social services, including police, coroners, child and family services, and health. Gathers case-specific and general information sought by family members, ensures the information is provided to family members in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive way, and facilitates connections to other services that promote wellness and healing. Services are available to all family members (blood and non-blood relations) whether or not they are participating in the National Inquiry. Frontline Family Support Workers are located at offices in Vancouver and in Prince George, and may travel to family members' home communities. Office hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
