Services are confidential, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and victim-centred. Works with partners in government and social services, including police, coroners, child and family services, and health. Gathers case-specific and general information sought by family members, ensures the information is provided to family members in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive way, and facilitates connections to other services that promote wellness and healing. Operates under the supervision of the director of civil forfeiture to commence legal proceedings against property (houses, land, or personal property) linked to unlawful activity. Receives information from law enforcement agencies and commences and manages legal proceedings according to policies and the Civil Forfeiture Act. Money from forfeiture is re-invested in BC communities in the form of crime prevention grants and compensation to eligible victims. Certifies guide and service dogs and their handlers in accordance with the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act (GDSDA).

Certifies guide and service dogs and their handlers in accordance with the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act (GDSDA). Handlers of dogs trained by an accredited school can submit documents for provincial certification. Employees or volunteers training dogs for accredited schools can also apply for certification allowing them to train the dogs in public spaces. Certified guide and service dogs that have retired and remain with their handlers can receive retirement certification permitting them to continue living with their handlers regardless of strata bylaws or rental conditions prohibiting pets. Certification under the GDSDA is voluntary; persons with disabilities who rely on a guide or service dog that is certified with other authorities, or is not certified, have equal right to access and use public services/spaces and rental or strata housing, and are protected under the BC Human Rights Code. One can apply for the restitution program if there is an unpaid restitution order, the restitution order is part of an adult sentence and the restitution order is issued by a criminal court in BC. Apply to the Restitution Program online:
