BC Rebate for Accessible Home Adaptations (BC RAHA)

Provides financial assistance in the form of rebates to help eligible low- to moderate-income households to complete home adaptations for independent living. Accepts applications first-come, first-served, prioritizing complete ones. Application intake is ongoing until funding runs out; it renews on April 1 of each year. Eligible homeowners, renters, and landlords can receive up to $20,000 in rebates to complete home adaptations. Clients must have a permanent disability or loss of physical ability, and have household income and assets below established limits. Clients must reside in BC and be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant. Applications are available on the website, by mail, or at any BC Housing office. Service is in English; callers who require interpretation must make arrangements in advance. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
