Canada Apprentice Loan
Provides interest-free loans for apprentices in a designated Red Seal trade training program. Offers up to $4,000 in interest-free loans per period of technical training, for a maximum of five periods. Loan can be used to pay for tuition, tools, equipment, living expenses, to cover forgone wages or to help support the student's family. Loan is payment-free for up to six years with continued registration in trade apprenticeship program. Eligible applicants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person; not a high school student; a registered apprentice in a Red Seal trade apprenticeship program; enrolled in block release technical training; and pass a credit check. Applications can be submitted through a My Service Canada Account online; applications can also be submitted by mail. Available in all provinces and territories except Quebec, where an alternate support is available.
