Provides free and confidential community-based victim services to victims of all ages and genders who have experienced family and relationship violence, sexual assault, historical child physical/sexual abuse, and criminal harassment. Services include emotional support, advocacy, safety planning, assistance with child protection authorities, accompaniment to medical and/or criminal justice system services, liaison with crown counsel, information about the criminal justice system and court process, help preparing victim impact statements, form completion assistance, information on the status of police investigations and the status of court cases, information on peace bonds and restraining orders, help with applications for financial assistance, and information and referral to other agencies and services such as counselling, transition houses, and support for children. Also offers third party reporting to victims of sexualized assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Accepts referral from self or other. Serves Port Alberni and Bamfield. Hours are 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
