Indigenous Patient Navigator (IPN)
Offers practical support to Indigenous persons accessing health services, including mental health and substance use services (MHSU), and support access to cultural resources. Goal is to improve access and ensure the Indigenous patients' health care experience is culturally safe and inclusive. Aims to ensure the Indigenous patient understands the hospital cultural/processes, and health care staff understand the unique needs of the Indigenous patient. Offered in Ashcroft, Castlegar, Creston, Cranbrook, Kamloops, Kelowna, Merritt, Penticton, Vernon, and Williams Lake.
