Delivers health care and support services through a network of health centres, hospitals, primary care clinics, residential care homes, and other facilities. Services include home and community care, mental health and substance use, health protection, public health, acute care, and other specialized programs. Request forms for access to personal health records can be obtained online: www.interiorhealth.ca/about-ih/information-requests. Free take home Naloxone Kits (Narcan) used to reverse the effects of overdoses from opioids (like fentanyl, heroin, methadone, morphine, and oxycodone), are available at all hospitals, public health units, mental health and substance use offices, and other facilities throughout the health authority region. The Toxic Drug Alert system provides regional information related to toxic drugs and drug poisonings to assist people who use substances to access a safe supply; text JOIN to ALERTS (253787) to receive notifications via SMS or subscribe to News & Alerts?. Provides drug checking services?? and overdose prevention and treatment. Serves the East Kootenay, Kootenay-Boundary, Okanagan, and Thompson Cariboo Shuswap regions. Responsible for service delivery on behalf of Ministry of Health (MOH). Administration hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday.
