Kelowna Family Justice Centre

Service Description

Provides services to British Columbians experiencing separation or divorce. Services include legal information, short-term counselling, mediation, and referrals to community services. Family Justice Centres have Family Justice Counsellors (accredited family mediators) on staff who can provide dispute resolution services to help families resolve disagreements about parenting arrangements, contact with a child, guardianship, and support issues, without going to court. Service is free and confidential.

The Kelowna Family Justice Centre can be contacted directly to schedule a family needs assessment and complete a parenting education program in order to fulfill the Family Justice Registry requirement of the Kelowna Provincial Court for all family law matters filed there.

Serves Beaverdell, Kelowna, Peachland, West Kelowna, and Winfield. Hours are 8 am to 5:20 pm Monday and Friday, and 8 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday to Thursday (virtual services until 6 pm every second Wednesday by appointment only). In-person services are available Tuesday to Thursday, virtual services are available during all business hours. Hours subject to change. Clients without an appointment are advised to phone ahead before dropping in.
